As a non-profit
radio station, KJMC depends on direct local financial support to pay for
our broadcast operations including the creation of locally produced
shows and the acquisition of national syndicated programs. We depend on
three primary sources of funding: listeners and businesses within our
broadcast community, which comprise our largest source of funding;
foundations and philanthropic organizations; and local, state and
federal government agencies.
You can ensure
KJMC’s ability to continue to provide our community the highest quality
music and entertainment programs -- programs that
you value and enjoy -- in a variety of ways:
Underwriting
Individuals, businesses and community organizations can support KJMC by
sponsoring our programming and other activities. Underwriting is a way
to communicate your message to an audience that cares about quality. For
more information about how you can underwrite on KJMC, please contact
the station at
(515) 279-1811.
Program Endowment
KJMC's Programming Fund is a vehicle for individuals, corporations and
foundations to support the development and production of new local
programming by KJMC. Your generous one-time or multi-year contribution
will help us research the viability of new program proposals, pay
production costs, fund marketing to introduce new programs to potential
listeners, and facilitate potential national distribution. To learn more
about our Programming Fund, please contact (515) 279-1811.
Planned Giving
By declaring your intent to include the continuation of Public Radio in your
will, trust or beneficiary arrangements, you are helping to ensure KJMC’s ability to remain a strong and vital informational and
educational resource for our community for years to come. To learn more
about our planned giving options, please contact us at (515) 279-1811.

KJMC's listeners contribute funds to the station each year during our
pledge drives. In addition, many listeners come out and support the
station at benefit functions.
Businesses or individuals can financially sponsor a program or segments
of programming. KJMC is allowed to thank the underwriter and mention
their business interest. Underwriting is our second most important
source of funding. As we grow, support from the business community
becomes increasingly necessary in order for us to meet escalating
operating costs.
KJMC is owned and operated by the Minority
Communications, Inc., a non-profit corporation
registered by the federal IRS as a 501(c)(3), whose
sole activity is operating KJMC. This means that all
contributions are tax deductible. |
